Trip Itinerary


Day 1

ARRIVE VIENNA (2 NIGHTS)

Welcome to the magical Austrian capital, Vienna. Relax after your journey. Later, meet your fellow travellers and your Travel Director for a Welcome Reception with drinks and a light meal followed by an evening orientation drive.

Day 2

VIENNA SIGHTSEEING AND CHRISTMAS MARKETS

Explore the Ringstrasse during your festive sightseeing tour of Vienna. Your Local Guide shows you the Hofburg which was the former home of the Hapsburgs. You will also see the Parliament, City Hall and the grand State Opera House. Visit the ‘Christkindlmarkt’ and buy handmade wooden toys, seasonal gifts, delicious gingerbread and warming Glühwein from traditional decorated wooden stalls.

Day 3

VIENNA – SALZBURG – MUNICH (2 NIGHTS)

Drive along the scenic Danube Valley to the beautiful city of Salzburg. Visit the enchanting Christmas market. See the beautifully manicured Mirabell Gardens, Mozart’s birthplace and the Old City on your walking tour with a Local Guide. Then cross fairytale Alpine landscapes to Munich, capital of Bavaria. Dine this evening at your hotel.

Day 4

MUNICH ORIENTATION AND FREE TIME

Discover Munich on an orientation with your Travel Director. Admire the Marienplatz with its impressive Town Hall and the ornate Glockenspiel. Spend the rest of your day enjoying the festive spirit at the Christmas market. Consider a visit to a famous beer hall and experience the warmth and hospitality for which this city is renowned.

Day 5

MUNICH – NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE – OBERAMMERGAU –  INNSBRUCK

Visit King Ludwig’s castle. Standing on a rugged hilltop and set against dramatic snow-capped mountains, this Gothic Revival building is every inch the fairytale castle! Visit Oberammergau, where the seven-hour long Passion Play is performed every 10 years. Admire the 15th century Golden Roof at Innsbruck. Visit the Christmas Market in the Old Town Square and immerse yourself in the festive atmosphere!

Day 6

INNSBRUCK – ZURICH CHRISTMAS MARKET – LUCERNE (2 NIGHTS)

Travel through alpine landscapes into Switzerland. Explore the Christmas market in Zurich, held inside the main train station − the biggest indoor festive market in Europe before continuing on to lakeside Lucerne.


Day 7

LUCERNE ORIENTATION AND FREE TIME

Visit the Lion Monument in Lucerne. See the 14th century wooden Chapel Bridge and the beautiful Baroque Jesuit Church. Shop for souvenirs in Lucerne’s quaint Christmas market. This evening, join your companions and Travel Director for a delicious festive Farewell Dinner with wine.

Day 8

LUCERNE – DEPART ZURICH

Say farewell to your travelling companions as you return home full of the joys of Christmas! Morning transfer to Zurich airport from Lucerne, conditions apply. Please do not book flights which depart before 10.00am from Zurich airport.
