Les Roches Collaborate with Guillaume Reymond

Nearly 300 Les Roches International School of Hotel Management students gathered on the Bluche campus on September 14 tocreate a gigantic live world mapvisible from the air.

The project was acollaboration between Les Roches and the Franco-Swiss artist Guillaume Reymond who is known for orchestrating
gatherings of several hundred people to form such creations as the human logo of the Swiss radio station Couleur3 and the animated HESAV Tower.

His videos regularly attract attention on a worldwide scale, with more than 27 million hits to date on his NOTsoNOISY YouTube channel. Les Roches is the first international hotel management school to have realized an artistic endeavor of this magnitude.

“This artistic performance required enormous logistical and human dexterity. The entire operation was planned in advance but without rehearsals,” said Reymond. “We directed 300 enthusiastic students including a large number of Indian students studying  hospitality management courses, accounting for 10 % of the student body at  Les Roches for several hours and took more than 1,000 digital pictures from a height of 15 meters. The conception, planning, and post-production took nearly a month of work.”

Our studentsare explorers and risk-takers; they thrive on new challenges, and this performance was one of those challenges.”
