BMVSS extending support to Afghan with Jaipur Foot

Afghanistan’s deputy minister for labor, social affairs, martyrs and disabled Jamila Afghan visited Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) on 21st February 2016. BMVSS is the maker of Jaipur Foot.

The minister saw the manufacturing process of
Jaipur Foot and was accompanied by Rajasthan’s minister for social justice Dr. Arun Chaturvedi, founder and chief patron of BMVSS D R Mehta and its joint secretary Bhoopendra Raj Mehta. The director of National Disability Institute, Fazelullah Mohhamedi was also present with them.

This was an extension of the MoU signed by BMVSS and Afghanistan government last year with the aim of cooperating to set up the NDI at Kabul. The BMVSS is in the agreement of providing 300 foot parts for free to the NDI every year along with various material components for the making of artificial limb Jaipur Foot at the purchase price.

D R Mehta also offered to train Afghanistan technical personnel free of cost during a meeting with Afghan. They are also ready to send their technical team to Kabul for the training process.
