Summer Camp Galore for School Kids in City

With summer vacations less than a week away, summer camps are back in the city offering a variety of crash courses with fun-filled learning experiences to school children. From the traditional favorites like swimming, music, dancing and martial arts lessons to new-age activities like robotics, digital arts, photography classes and different handicrafts workshop, schoolchildren are spoilt for choice while deciding what they want to learn this
summer.

Suncity School, Gurgaon is offering various activities for the children like digital arts, Vedic mathematics, and robotics. The traditional drawing and painting classes have been given a modern twist, with digital art becoming a popular summer option for students. Parth Gupta, a student of Class IX in Suncity School, which is holding a digital art camp, said, "I wanted to explore the fine arts beyond brushes and paint. I'm looking forward to exploring art in a digital way, using Adobe and other software."

Amity International School, Sector 46, is offering 'Introduction to App Making', where students will be taught embedded technology, logic building and computer programming, which is also used to run robots. On the other hand MatriKiran School.

"MatriKiran is organizing a summer camp for children ‘Matri Masti’ from 16th May to 27th May at MatriKiran Junior School, Sohna Road, Gurgaon. Children will be meaningfully engaged in a series of creative activities inspired by the five elements - Earth, Air, Water, Fire, Ether. The aim of the summer camp is overall development and well-being of the children." Said Mrs Jyoti Guha, Principal of MatriKiran School.

However, these summer camps have not given physical activities a miss. Taekwondo and judo are a favorite, with many students of Scottish High International and Suncity schools attending workshops on tile-, board- and vegetable-breaking, as well as self-defense.
