Newsrooms Shifting from TV to Digital Platforms: Insights from Yudhishthir Upadhyay

The Department of Media, Maharishi University of Information Technology, Noida, in collaboration with IQAC, organized a one-day workshop on “How Newsrooms are Shifting from TV to Digital Platforms.”

The event featured Mr. Yudhishthir Upadhyay, Multimedia Producer & YouTube Lead at Zee News, as the keynote speaker, who enlightened students about the ongoing transformation in journalism. He emphasized that journalism today is no longer confined to television but has expanded significantly to digital platforms, increasing both the demand and responsibility of content creation. Mr. Upadhyay highlighted the importance of scriptwriting, headline crafting, thorough research, visual presentation, and strong reading and writing habits as the foundation for successful journalism.

The program commenced with a traditional Guru Puja and lamp lighting ceremony, followed by a warm welcome from Dr. Shambhoo Sharan Gupta, Head of the Department of Media.

An engaging interactive Q&A session followed, where students asked questions on career opportunities in digital media, challenges in content creation, and combating fake news.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Monika Gaur. The workshop was also graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Dr. Mithilesh Kumar, Dr. Ritu Garg, Mr. Mohan Singh Rawat, Mr. Arvind Kumar Singh, Mr. Laxmi Narayan Tiwari, and PRO Mr. Shivam Yadav.

This workshop served not only as a source of inspiration for the students but also conveyed a clear message: the future of journalism lies in embracing digital media — provided ethics, clarity, and credibility remain at its core.
