Russian President Vladimir Putin's two-day state visit concluded on Friday with a formal and 'royal welcome' at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. President Droupadi Murmu warmly received President Putin, who was in India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit. The pictures of the event reflected the high diplomatic stature of the relationship between the two nations.
Following the reception, President Murmu hosted a 'Grand Dinner' in honour of the Russian President. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with several other senior leaders, were present at this special event, underscoring the high priority accorded to the special and privileged strategic partnership between India and Russia.
This state visit holds particular significance as it marks the 25th Anniversary of the declaration of the India-Russia Strategic Partnership, which was formalized during President Putin's first visit to India in October 2000. On this occasion, the leaders of both countries reiterated their shared resolve to further strengthen this special and privileged strategic partnership.
The leaders appreciated the multifaceted, comprehensive, and mutually beneficial nature of India-Russia relations, which spans diverse sectors including political, strategic, military, security, trade, investment, energy, science, technology, nuclear, space, culture, education, and humanitarian cooperation. Satisfaction was expressed that efforts are ongoing to enhance cooperation in new areas, alongside the traditional ones. Both sides are committed to advancing a modern, balanced, sustainable, and long-term partnership, and they agreed to utilize the full potential of this strategic partnership.
