Trip Itinerary

Day 1
ARRIVE SYDNEY (3 NIGHTS)

On arrival in Sydney you will be transferred to your hotel (flights to arrive prior to 12pm). This afternoon enjoy a tour of the Sydney Opera House with a Local Expert.

Then it's time to find your sea-legs as you board a Captain Cook Sunset Cruise for your Welcome Reception and dinner with your Travel Director. You'll pass magnificent waterfront homes, beaches and parklands and all the main harbour attractions including the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.

Witness spring twilight, summer evenings, autumn sunsets or winter city lights while enjoying a delicious contemporary Australian menu.


Day 2

SYDNEY SIGHTSEEING
This morning, board your coach to see the Royal Botanic Gardens and visit Mrs. Macquarie’s Chair. Your destination is famous Bondi Beach for an iconic Australian experience.

You’ll be greeted by a local surf lifesaver before a Be My Guest lunch at an Aussie institution, the Returned Servicemen’s Club, with its views over the Pacific Ocean.

Your host will take you on an exclusive tour through Australia’s oldest surf lifesaving club to learn about the history of Bondi and surf lifesaving. When you return to the city you’ll have the opportunity to discover Australia’s national gemstone – the opal.

Or if you want to see Sydney from above, take the climb of your life with the Sydney Harbour Bridge ‘BridgeClimb’.

Day 3

SYDNEY AT LEISURE
Spend a free day in Sydney seeing the sights of your choice. Or perhaps take an excursion to view the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains and Jenolan Caves or an interesting trip to Canberra, Australia’s capital.

Or travel to the Hunter Valley, New South Wales’ premier wine growing region, for a wineries tour.

Day 4

SYDNEY - ULURU (AYERS ROCK) (2 NIGHTS)
You will be transferred to Sydney Airport for your flight to Ayers Rock Resort, your Authentic Accommodation. Late afternoon travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area.

Witness and photograph the striking colour changes of Uluru at sunset while enjoying a complimentary glass of sparkling wine and canapés.

Day 5

KATA TJUTA (THE OLGAS)
Rise early this morning to experience sunrise at Uluru (Ayers Rock). Watch the first rays of dawn set the Red Centre alight.

Travel by coach to the base of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Your Guide will walk with you to the Mutitjulu Waterhole, indicating the natural features of the landscape. Hear traditional Aboriginal stories and gain a Unique Insight into this special place.

Visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre. This afternoon travel to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas), 36 massive domes of red conglomerate rock. The walking trail through the Walpa Gorge follows the natural creek bed between two of the tallest domes.

Later, enjoy complimentary wine and nibbles as the sun sets at Kata Tjuta (the Olgas).

Day 6

ULURU (AYERS ROCK) - CAIRNS (3 NIGHTS)
Join a local Aboriginal artist for a fun introduction to Western Desert Art, a Local Speciality. Your Anangu artist will provide you with an introduction to their culture.

You'll be assisted to complete your own painting, which you can take home as a memento of your experience. You'll then be transferred to the airport for your flight to the holiday resort town of Cairns.

Day 7

GREAT BARRIER REEF
Encounter unique Australian animals at the Cairns Wildlife Dome. Later, board a high speed catamaran for an unforgettable day on the Great Barrier Reef.

Enjoy a reef education presentation by a Local Expert. Snorkel in the underwater paradise with its colourful coral and tropical fish and view this natural living wonder up close (equipment provided).

Visit the underwater observatory and watch the marine life glide by plus take a ride in the semi-submersible vessel. Enjoy a tropical buffet Highlight Lunch before returning to Cairns in the late afternoon.

This evening visit the Cairns Night Markets, a Local Speciality, for the chance to purchase some souvenirs.

Day 8


CAIRNS AT LEISURE
Enjoy a full free day in this tropical city. Perhaps take a ride on the famous Kuranda Railway for the breathtaking journey to the village of Kuranda with time to stroll through the market.

Return to the lowlands by the Skyrail Cableway above the Barron Gorge National Park, a beautiful experience. Visit the award-winning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park. Experience the History, Creation and Dance Theatres where the legends of the Dreamtime are brought to life.

Or if nature is your thing, you could take a trip to Cape Tribulation. This evening join your Travel Director and new-found friends for a Farewell Dinner.

Day 9

DEPART CAIRNS
This morning after breakfast you will be transferred to Cairns Airport for your flight home (flights anytime).
