The GIRL Next Door… AVIKA GOR

Avika S Gor, popularly known as 'Anandi' of Balika Vadhu and playing 'Roli' in Sasural Simar Ka opens up with Poonam Singh and shares her experiences.

Q- About you and your family.
A-I am the only daughter to my parents Sameer & Chetna Gor. My passion for dancing, acting, travelling and photography has helped me out in reaching to this level. And I am very fond of Indian cuisines. I just love it.

Q- How you entered this industry? Your source of inspiration?

A- Since the age of 4, I am into stage shows (dancing) and I have performed in more than 150 stage shows. Once a Casting director saw me performing and offered the show for NDTV Imagine. This was how I entered the TV industry in 2007.

Q- What was there in your mind before entering this field?
A- I never planned for my career, it just happened. I always wanted to do what I enjoyed and that was performing stage shows.







Q- Who was/is your mentor?
A- There are so many names that come to my mind right from my Parents to Teachers and Friends. Many have helped me out in one way or the other and I am thankful to all of them for being with me and motivating me.

Q- Your first assignment.
A- It was NDTV Imagine’s Show RAAJ KUMAR ARYAN that I did for only 2 Episodes.

Q- Upcoming assignments.
A- There are many exciting projects in pipeline. Among them is my Telugu Film, where I am playing the lead role. It’s releasing in July / August. Hope my fans will like me in this new Avtaar.

Q- Your future plans.
A- I want to do modeling for television ad films and projects that will inspire me to grow up as an actor. Apart from this, nothing else I can think off.

Q- Your take on glamour industry, fashion & lifestyle.
A- This industry has helped me a lot in growing and knowing people. And I am very thankful to the whole industry that it has warmly welcomed and accepted me with both hands open. And about fashion and lifestyle, the dynamics are ever-changing, so I try to keep pace with it.

Q- Your hobbies.
A- I love shooting photographs and dancing whenever I get time.

Q- Your birthday.
A- I was born on 30th June.

Q- Do you have faith in God?
A- I have tremendous faith on Lord Ganesha, who is like a brother to me. And you know what, I feel myself so close to Him that I also tie the Rakhi to His Idol on every Raksha Bandhan.
