Understanding NUMEROLOGY- Part 1

Numerology is perhaps the easiest of the occult science to understand and use. All you need is the birth date and the complete name of an individual to unlock all of the secrets that the numbers hold.

There are nine numbers used in constructing Numerology charts. These numbers are 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Larger numbers that occur from adding the numbers in the complete birth date or from the values assigned to each name are reduced by adding the digits together until the sum achieved is one of the core
numbers.

Merely add the components of the larger number together (repeatedly, if necessary) until a single digit results. Each of these numbers represents different characteristics and expressions.

The first consideration of numerology is often the date of birth. This date, expressed numerically, as mm/dd/yyyy, is used to determine what is called the Life Path Number and a variety of other factors in the numerology reading.

The Life Path is the sum of the birth date. This number represents who you are at birth and the native traits that you will carry with you through life. The most important number that will be discussed here is your Life Path number. The Life Path describes the nature of this journey through life.

The Life Path number is established from the date of birth. First, add the Day, Month and year together to arrive at a total. Next, reduce this number to a single digit number.
Example: If a person was born on 4th January, 1992 (04.01.1992), add the day 4 to the month 1 plus the year 1992 arriving at a total of 26. Then add the digits in 26 arriving at the Life Path number 8. Be sure to add the full year and not just last two digits i.e. 1992 and not just 92.

The second consideration will be converting your Full Birth Name* to a number and is called Destiny Number. 

Destiny is a very descriptive word for the meaning of this important core element. This is the number that describes the tasks that you must achieve in this lifetime using the name that was given to you by your parents.

This name, the complete birth name, symbolizes the opportunities you have at your disposal.  Unlike the Life Path Number which reads AS YOU ARE, the Destiny Number more correctly reads AS YOU MUST or what you can aspire to become.

To arrive at your Destiny number, take each name separately and add up the letter values using the conversion chart below. Reduce each name to a single digit. Then add the results of all of the names to arrive at a total which you then once again reduce to a single digit.

Here is a chart of the values assigned to each of the letters in the English alphabet:
    1    2    3    4    5    6    7    8    9
    A    B    C    D    E    F    G    H    I
    J    K    L    M    N    O    P    Q    R
    S    T    U    V    W    X    Y    Z

(* Note: Most authorities agree that the full birth name as recorded on your birth certificate is the name that must be used for all calculations involving name. Nicknames, changed names including marriage name changes do not dilute the importance of the name given to you by your parents.)

Example: Destiny number of SURAJ BANG; SURAJ Equals 15 i.e. 6, BANG equals 15 i.e. 6. The Destiny number is 15+15=30 i.e. 3 OR 6+6=12=3.

It is essential to understand that the root numbers used in numerology, each number has its positive traits and likewise each number has its negative potential.
Ownership of Planets:

Each number is owned by a respective planet which specifies the basic characteristic of the number.  Or we can say each number is governed by the qualities of those particular planets who own those numbers.

Number One owned by planet SUN, Number Two by MOON, Number Three by Planet MERCURY, Number Four by RAHU, Number Five by VENUS, Number Six by JUPITER, Number Seven by KETU, Number Eight by SATURN and finally number Nine is owned by planet MARS.

I had initially approached it as an exercise in entertainment, but as I delved deeper into the articles, I realized how accurate the assessments were.
