Reduce cancer through Ayurveda

Every year, world observe ‘Cancer Awareness Day’ on 4th February to make people aware about the causes and effective remedies. NCBI reported that more than 1 million people diagnosed every year of this dreadful disease in a country of 1.2 billion people.

Mostly, factors responsible for the fatal disease are bad eating habits, smoking, genetic disorder and many more. These all can be avoided to a large extent. Experts and
physicians of Ayurveda suggest the methods and treatment, if comply can prove beneficial
for the patient and even one can spend a disease free life forever.

Our body is made up of innumerable cells. These cells increase according to the needs of the body under a control regime. But, cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. When Tumor or Cancer is formed in a body swelling or nodule of a non-healing Ulcer appears. Cancer may attack at any age of life, generally it appears in youth and old-aged people, foundation of which is laid in the childhood.

Ayurvedic physician, botanist and co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth, Acharya Balkrishna exerts, “Use fibrous food abundantly to keep cancer at bay. Take fresh fruits, vegetables; use flour with husk to prepare chapatti, less refined rice, Pulses with testa. Include vitamin -A and Carotene rich foods in meals. These elements are found in some vegetables and fruits like Carrot, Mango, Papaya etc.  Meal should be rich with vitamin - C. Aamla (Emblic Myrobalan), Guava, should be included in the diet. Antioxidants like Vitamin-E and Seleniyam are useful for cancer disease. Maintain regularity in taking food, doing exercises, yoga sanas and meditation.  Live a balanced life taking healthy diet and following a proper lifestyle.”

In Ayurveda, Cancer can be Vaat, Pitt or Kapha predominant. In order to control cancer combination of medicines should be taken by keeping in view the affected part/organ of the body. If one is suffering from brain cancer, then bhasmas including Vajrabhasma, Abhrakbhasma Swaran bhasma, Tamra bhasma, Mukta pishti, Motipishti, should be taken with Brahmi, Shankh pushpi, Jatamansi etc. in proper quantity.

Dr. Vaidya Arun Kumar Pandey, Sr. Vaidaya, Patanjali Yogpeeth said, “Don't eat or smoke tobacco. Keep yourself distant from smokers. Active or passive smoking leads to lung, throat and mouth cancer. People who consume opium, charas, gaanja get affected ten times more than those who take tobacco. People who work in cement and other similar industries can also get affected by cancer. X-rays can also cause cancer. Fine particles of cotton which goes inside the body of people working in textile mills with inhalation can also cause cancer. Labour working in the stone mines can also become the victim of similar type of cancer.”
 
“One should completely refrain from pan masala. Don't take much fried food which is made up of ghee and oil. Don't use much heat while you cook. Avoid taking non-vegetarian food since it may cause colon cancer. Use very less quantity of artificial colours and aromatic substances in food. Maintain hygiene, it is said -'Bahyabhyantarah shuchi’, filthy atmosphere causes genital & Ano-rectal cancer. Save yourself from pollution. Don't spread pollution or don't live in such conditions. Air pollution causes lung cancer”, he further added.
 
Medicines like Sarvakalp and kaya kalp kwath, Sanjeevani Vati, Sila Sindoor, Praval panchamrit, kanchnar guggal ,virdhivadhika vati, aarogya Vardhini Vati, in addition to Godhan ark, wheatgrass juice, Giloy extract and juice, Ghrit kumari ras, neem and tulsi leaves are very effective in treating cancer.
