Loan application for Valentine’s rejected by SBI

The employee from State Bank of India got disappointment when the bank rejected his loan application. A 25 year old probationary Officer of SBI, Gujarat, Digvijay Singh applied for a loan of Rs 42,970 to celebrate Valentines’ Day. But the bank turned down his application. It is not the first time for Singh applying for loan for any occasion. Earlier, he applied for
Vasant Panchmi which was accepted by SBI.

The source from the bank said that the SBI offers one salary in advance as a free-interest loan to celebrate the festivals. But Valentine’s Day is not included in their holiday calendar like Father’s Day and Mother’s Day.

An employee can pay such kind of loans in ten installments but only for the included list of holidays in the SBI calendar. And Singh’s application is considered as invalid. Digvijay Singh responded that he did not apply for publicity but it was a genuine attempt to get a loan and he is not interested to entertain the people regarding this matter.
