Workshop on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace

DMA’s had organized a highly effective and comprehensive programme on "Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace" with Raisein Solutions as Knowledge Partner, duly supported by K & T Law Offices and We Welfare Society on 16th January, 2015 at India Habitat Center, New Delhi.

Mr. Rajan Pandhi, Director, DMA shared that the need for the workshop arose as the Honorable Supreme Court of India has laid certain guidelines for all to follow
through the Act titled as “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition &Redressal) Act, 2013 (14 of 2013)”  in view of the case of “Vishakha&Ors Versus State of Rajasthan and Others” dated 13/08/1997.

Mr. Pandhistressed to protect women from Sexual Harassment at their place of work and for the prevention and redressal of complaints of Sexual Harassment, DMA keeps organizing awareness programmes on such topics at regular intervals.

Ltd., Ms. Sowmyaa Bharadwaj-Deputy Director–Research & Consultancies Praxis,  Ms. Moutushi Sengupta, Country Director, Mac Arthur Foundation and Ms. Suman Singh, Director, Raisein Solutions were eminent speakers.

In the session on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace not only the Legal sight was talked about but also the Society view as well as acceptance or Rejection of the Women Workers was dually talked upon wherein Ms. Neha Kala, President, We Welfare Society stressed on Role & Creation of Internal Complaints in all the Sectors.

As a very renowned Body DMA aims to create Sexual Harassment Free Work Culture. The workshop ended with a thorough understanding of all the issues surrounding sexual harassment and vote of thanks by the Director Mr. Rajan Pandhi.
