The 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show

The annual PHS Philadelphia Flower Show at the Pennsylvania Convention Center is the world’s oldest and largest indoor flower show. Attracting more than 260,000 visitors each year, the Flower Show features incredible large-scale floral displays, elaborate gardens and over-the-top floral creations.

Now in its 186th year, this year’s Flower Show is going to Celebrate the Movies with
themed displays, special events and more in celebration of the silver screen.

In addition to amazing floral designs, the Flower Show hosts a variety of special events including live entertainment, demonstrations, gardening workshops, parties and more. Some of the highlighted events during the Philadelphia Flower Show are LGBT Party (1 March), Wedding Wednesday (4 March).

The Philadelphia Flower Show is deeply rooted in the history of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS), which was founded in 1827. Charter members brought interesting plants to display at meetings and, eventually, to share with the public. In the 1960s, PHS took over management of the Philadelphia Flower Show, also encouraging participation by amateurs- individuals and garden clubs.

Proceeds from the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show benefit the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, including the City Harvest program which feeds more than 1,200 families per week during the growing season.
