The department of tourism and district administration has organized a four-day event in Udaipur to promote the city and to flourish its tourism around the globe. The first lake festival of the city has been started from today to 14th February 2016 and has been embracing various cultural, sports, and musical events in and around
the lakes.
It is going to help the floating markets to stretch its business as boats will be floating from ghats to ghats. It also showcases the finest handicrafts and unique articles related to the lake city. Pichhola Lake is being decorated with the water curtain night glow show. Dragon boat race and kite flying are the attractions in Fatehsagar, Canoe Polo and musical bands from abroad will also be performing during the fest.
Sumita Saroch, deputy director, tourism said “It is surely a one-of-its-kind event which would have a lasting impact on the minds of the audience as we wish to make it a brand and signature festival of Udaipur.”
Unique boat has been created to depict Shrinathji’s temple much appreciated by Krishna devotees. Saroch further added that they generally receive 70 to 80 percent tourists on weekends. But this time, they are expecting a mass gathering for the lake festival.
