One Globe now transforms into a Forum

The One Globe Conference, India’s leading platform for global thought leaders and industry experts to deliberate on the transformation of India & South Asia into a 21st century knowledge economy, is now transforming into One Globe Forum.

The One Globe Forum will host several engagements
throughout the year with focus groups of thought leaders, academicians, educators, entrepreneurs, policy makers, influencers and businessmen, which will culminate in the annual One Globe Forum. A niche group of thought leaders from across the world will get together to discuss, deliberate and debate in order to have an impact on policymakers and policies.

One Globe, which completed its 5th edition this year, has fast cemented itself as India’s leading platform for dialogue that unites knowledge communities by exploring the intersection of technology, innovation, smart cities, skills , regional collaboration & education.

Harjiv Singh, Convener, One Globe Forum & CEO of Salwan Media Ventures says, “Over the past five years, One Globe has sparked some great ideas across wide ranging aspects of building a true knowledge economy including K-12 and higher education, civilizational knowledge, internationalization & globalization, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, public health, smart cities, security & defence, manufacturing, technology covering networking, fibre optics, digital, new-age terminal devices, communications, ICT , innovation, investments, women empowerment, social ventures and more. However, with Indian economy needing to generate 115 million non-agricultural jobs in the next decade but only 2.3 per cent of the workforce having received formal skill training, there is an urgency to put ideas into action so that India’s demographic dividend does not turn into an economic burden in the years to come. One Globe Forum will focus on an action-oriented approach to mobilize like-minded stakeholders to engage multiple times through the year to give a focused direction to our progressive agenda of bringing real transformation.”

Over the last five years, One Globe has provided delegates an opportunity to hear, meet, and network with top decision makers including ministers and politicians, such as India’s Minister of State (I/C) for Power, Coal and New and Renewable Energy Piyush Goyal, Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (I/C) and Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore; Minister of State for Urban Development, Babul Supriyo; Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Chairman of India’s Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT, Anurag Thakur; Former Chief Minister of Delhi and former Governor of Kerala, Sheila Dikshit ; then Minister of State for External Affairs and Human Resource Development, Shashi Tharoor; then External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid; then HRD Minister, Pallam Raju; Member of Parliament and BJP National Spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi; Fulltime Member, NITI Aayog, Dr. Bibek Debroy; Former Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Montek Singh Ahluwalia; World Bank’s India Country Director, Mr. Onno Rühl; DIPP Secretary (and now NITI Aayog CEO) Amitabh Kant, among several other experts & industry leaders from across the globe.
