Catch the vibrant, young Indian performers at Santa Monica this October!

New name, new season, new vision: introducing Twilight on the Pier! The outdoor music festival that’s almost as iconic as the Pier itself is back for the 34th year. The 2018 series will spotlight the best and brightest SoCal has to offer and unique artists from around the world - a truly Local Meets Global experience. Each night of the series will be a Pier-wide festival, complete with immersive art, food offerings, a beer and spirits garden, games and
interactive activations all along the Pier promenade.


October 7th – SOUTH ASIAN SOUNDS


 A wild and exuberant confluence of Bhangra music with anthemic, psyched-out twists, Red Baraat take their sonic signature to new realms when they perform. The band explores South Asian culture, while firmly placing it within the context of a globalized generation as demonstrated by the diverse backgrounds of its members. Red Baraat draws from a vast expanse of influences, from bhangra music to jazz, hip-hop to psych and everything in between, utilizing the musicians’ virtuosity to redefine and reimagine the capabilities of their instruments.


Vidya Vox brings together influences of her Indian-American heritage to create music that is refreshingly new, unique and contemporary, seamlessly fusing together the intricacies of Indian music with elements of electronic and hip-hop for an undeniably catchy sound.


J Rekha is a producer, curator, educator and “Ambassador of Bhangra” based in New York City. Her music fuses Indian genre of bhangra music with international hip-hop and drum beats.


Discostan presents musical narratives from Beirut to Bangkok via Bombay. With a steady supply of inspiration from modern bhangra, Arabic dabke, Thai and Persian pop music, Bulgarian chalga and Turkish disco, Discostan explore cultures from around the world and create a funky, underground cross-cultural dance party for their audiences.
