Bollywood Lost Another Gem, Again

Sahabzade  Irrfan Khan, Magnificent Actor, Dies At 53 in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. A statement released by his family said, "Irrfan was buried at the Versova kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he's in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss."

He was born on 7 January, 1967 in the Rajasthan village of Tonk. His mother's family had a royal lineage and his father was a wealthy, self-made businessman who owned a tyre business.He dropped the "Sahabzada" from his name as it pointed to his family's privileged past - he felt this would get in the way and also changed his name from "Irfan" to "Irrfan" - not for any noble motive - but simply because he preferred the way it sounds. He was battling neuroendocrine cancer since 2018.

Irrfan khan, the name brings “perfection” to mind whenever we hear the name, and today the bollywood industry has lost him. He was not only a perfect actor but a cool human being too. Some of his memorable bollywood movies are :
* Haasil (2003)
* Maqbool (2003)
* Life in a metro (2007)
* Slumdog Millionaire (2008)
* Paan Singh Tomar (2012)
* Life Of Pi (2012)
* The Luchbox (2013)
* Haider (2014)
* Jurassic World(2015)
* Madaari (2016)
* Piku (2015)
* No bed of roses(2017)
* Hindi Medium (2017)
* Angrezi Medium (2020)

As famous for his films he is, his meme templates are one of the most  viral templates used.
Apart from his movies, he  had a reputation for modesty and integrity. Indian prime minister Narendra Modi said that Khan’s demise was “a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace.”

Fellow Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan said Khan’s death left a “huge vacuum”. “An incredible talent, a gracious colleague, a prolific contributor to the world of cinema … left us too soon,” tweeted Bachchan.

“The charisma you brought to everything you did was pure magic,” tweeted Priyanka Chopra. “Your talent forged the way for so many in so many avenues. You inspired so many of us. Irrfan Khan you will truly be missed. Condolences to the family.”
Indian politician Rahul Gandhi described Khan as a “versatile and talented actor” who would be “greatly missed” while Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said India had lost “one of the most exceptional actors of our time.”

In March 2018, Khan revealed he had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour, but after his  extensive treatment he recovered well enough to shoot Angrezi Medium,which was the film that turned out to be his last, and whose release this March was cut short because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, "My friend…inspiration & the greatest actor of our times. Allah bless your soul Irrfan bhai…will miss you as much as cherish the fact that you were part of our lives." Similarly, Aamir Khan, who is starring in the upcoming Bollywood remake of Forrest Gump, shared, "Very sad to hear about our dear colleague Irrfan. How tragic and sad. Such a wonderful talent. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Thank you Irrfan for all the joy you have brought to our lives through your work. You will be fondly remembered."

This versatile actor has won 9 awards- Filmfare Award in 2018, Filmfare Award in 2013, Filmfare Award in 2008, Filmfare Award in 2004, IIFA in 2018, IIFA in 2011, IIFA in 2008, National Award in 2012 and National Award in 2011.

His mortal remains  are buried on wednesday afternoon in presence of his family members. The actor was laid to rest in Versova burial ground in Mumbai.

Such a down to earth person, loved by everyone  and is irreplaceable. The whole industry is saddened by the shocking news they woke up to today. Twitter, Facebook,Instagram and even  all news platforms are flooded today with this news. He was a fighter, even while fighting with his disease he gave us few of his amazing works before leaving us. He is a legend and bollywood will never have another Irrfan  and no more such great films.
