Innovate4NPS Hackathon 2026 Unveils Cutting-Edge Solutions for India’s Pensions
New Delhi / Kanpur- The Innovate4NPS Hackathon 2026 – Pitch Day concluded at IIT Kanpur, marking a major step toward reimagining India’s National Pension System (NPS). A joint initiative of the Pension
Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) and the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre (SIIC), the event highlighted digital innovation, policy alignment, and technological solutions for an ageing population.The hackathon acted as a live laboratory, testing ideas in real-world NPS scenarios. Focused on digital trust, the initiative brought together startups, innovators, and technologists exploring new ways for millions of Indians to engage with retirement planning. Shortlisted teams presented solutions to a distinguished jury of policymakers, industry leaders, and domain experts, generating discussions on scalability, regulatory compliance, behavioural finance, and user trust. Complementing the pitch sessions, networking events and the co-located Abhivyakti exhibition showcased adjacent innovations in deep-tech and public systems.
Sivasubramanian Ramann, Chairperson of PFRDA, delivering the Chairperson’s address, said the hackathon “reflects a deeper shift—from incremental digitisation to systemic redesign.” The event concluded with four winning teams: Aditya Veer Singh and Pankaj Goyal (Team 1), Garvit Joshi and Lakshit Joshi (Team 2), Akbar Ali and Savan Masrani of Aadrila Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Team 3), and Kuldeep Parashar and Piyush Dixit of PensionBox (Team 4). Their solutions were recognised for innovation, scalability, and policy relevance, pointing toward a more accessible, intelligent, and user-centric pension ecosystem.
Additionally, seven finalist teams tackled critical NPS challenges including onboarding, engagement, analytics, and system efficiency. Innovators such as Prakash Somaiya, Veda Arvind and Vivek Kumar, Dweep Solanki and Animesh Sharma, Shivam Dnyaneshwar Raut and Team, Vishweshwar Mensumane, Ananya Biju and Team, and Shrihari Koushik and Kavitha Nagaraj demonstrated both technical sophistication and an understanding of user behaviour in financial systems.
Through initiatives like Innovate4NPS, PFRDA and SIIC-IIT Kanpur aim to integrate experimentation and public-purpose technology, shaping a pension landscape aligned with India’s broader digital infrastructure goals.
