IIM Bangalore Convocation Sees 785 Graduates, Nine Gold Medal Winners Honoured
The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) awarded degrees to 785 students across multiple programmes at its 51st Convocation held in Bengaluru on March 27, 2026. The ceremony also recognised academic excellence with nine gold medals and a special research award for a PhD scholar, marking a
significant milestone for the graduating Class of 2026.Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Ms Vibha Padalkar, Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Life, urged students to focus on sustained success and thoughtful decision-making. “Congratulations to the Class of 2026 at the 51st Convocation of IIM Bangalore. As you enter a rapidly evolving business environment, remember that lasting success is built through consistent choices, not just moments of acceleration. The real test of leadership lies in balancing short-term performance with long-term value creation. It is possible to have it all, but not always at the same time – prioritization and resilience act as the key. I wish you the wisdom to play the long game and create meaningful, enduring impact”, she said.
Degrees were conferred across PhD and MBA programmes, including PGP, EPGP, PGPEM, PGPBA and PGPPM. Among top achievers, Manasi Anju Mertia and Dhvit Jayen Mehta secured first and second ranks in PGP, while Mayur Dattatray Khule earned the Best All Round Performance medal.
