Multi-faith Gallery in Birmingham

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG) in United Kingdom has launched a new gallery “Faith in Birmingham” on 5th February 2016. They have a purpose of providing multi-faith into Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Judaism.

It includes Bihar’s statues of Hindu idols
Vishnu and Ganesh from 11th Century, an 11th Century Shiva Lingam from eastern India, 13th Century Nandi statue of Mysore and other Hindu artifacts.
Museum is already expected to be very crowded so they have the queuing system as well.

The American Hindu religious leader, Rajan Zed said that they are hoping this multi-faith gallery will help in promoting interfaith harmony and unity; and also to create a culture of love and peace. They want to encourage the interreligious dialogue and cooperation for better relationship in such diversified people.

BMAG is not doing such kind of events for the first time only but has over 40 galleries owned by Birmingham City Council and managed by the registered charity Birmingham Museums Trust containing 800,000 objects for display/store in its nine venues. Last year, in November they held a Rangoli Demonstration (Indian Art form). BMAG attracts over one million visitors annually. They feel that these attempts will also create a good business sense after knowing the beliefs of others in a global community.
